Dysart Development Corporation Announces New Board President

The Dysart Development Corporation (DDC) is pleased to announce the election of Nicole Taylor as the new Board President. The vote took place at the DDC’s Annual Members Meeting on April 30, 2024.


“We are excited to welcome Nicole as our new President,” said Erica Dickerson, Vice President of the DDC. “She has fresh ideas and a great desire to grow our community.”


The 501(c)(6) non-profit community development organization was formed over 40 years ago and is open to all citizens and businesses in Dysart and the surrounding area. The organization is a membership-based group that works to boost local economies by advocating for business growth, promoting networking opportunities, and offering valuable resources.


“The DDC has done so much for the growth and vitality of Dysart,” said Tim Glenn, Mayor of Dysart. “Nicole will continue that effort by bringing enthusiasm, her work experience, and new ideas for our local businesses, our Main Street and our community.”

The DDC’s mission is to improve the quality of life for its residents of all ages; to promote growth and diversification of the local economy through the retention and expansion of existing businesses and industry; to promote the recruitment of new business and industry; and to promote community revitalization by providing assistance and support.


“Growing up in a small town in Illinois, I really appreciate the community spirit I have witnessed in Dysart that makes it such a great place to live,” said Taylor. “I look forward to continuing to help build a strong and thriving city. The DDC plays such an important role in that through building a supportive business environment, collaborating with local stakeholders and marketing the area effectively. 


Taylor has over 20 years of marketing and public relations experience ranging from the education and business sectors as well as nonprofit, and was also a television news anchor at stations in Iowa and Illinois. She has a Journalism/Mass Communications degree from The University of Iowa.
